Community Profile 

Topsail Island is located along the southern coast of North Carolina and offers 26 miles of beautiful, sandy beaches. The island is rich in history from marauding pirates such as Blackbeard and Bonnett to "Operation Bumblebee" in World War II. Topsail Island is also proud of it's "Turtle Hospital". Tourists love the quaint shops and enjoy wonderful cuisine at the variety of restaurants on the island. Vacationers return here each year for fun and relaxation. Fall fishing is quite popular.

Across the bridge, you will find the "fishing village" of Sneads Ferry.You will enjoy the Southern hospitality and love the "laid-back" atmosphere! Local commercial fishing boats bring in harvests of shrimp, flounder, clams, scallops & oysters and many other varieties of seafood. Here the New River inlet meets the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. To celebrate the shrimping season, the community of Sneads Ferry hosts an annual "Shrimp Festival" the second weekend in August . The local Rotary Club hosts an annual King Mackerel Tournament in August as well.
